NOP Survey - July 1966
In July 1966 National Opinion Polls Ltd. carried out a survey of listenership to commercial radio stations available to British audiences.
The survey results showed the following figures for all adults:-

Radio 390 2,633,000
Radio England 2,274,000
Radio Scotland 2,195,000
Britain Radio 718,000
TOTAL RADIO AUDIENCE 39,900,000
HOLD Noun - cavity in a ship below deck where cargo is stowed. Also the area used to house transmitters on many radio ships.
