Dutch TV in 1964
The Dutch state television service, Nederlandse Televisie Stichting (NTS) was owned by the Government who provided the studio and transmitter facilities. These facilities were then contracted out to six organisations, formed and financed by mainly religious groups in Holland who then provided the actual programme material broadcast by the service. These programme contractors received income from Government grants and subscriptions raised by members of the various groups or societies
