Built in 1956 by the NV Scheepsbouwwerf De Dageraad, v/h Wed. J. Boot in Woubrugge (The Netherlands). Willem Beukelsz is 105' (32 m) long, and was originally used as a investigation vessel for the Dutch Ministry of Fishery before being sold to the Zeekadetkorps, IJmuiden in 1976.
A number of two day broadcasts in tribute to the offshore radio stations have been organised using the Willem Beukelsz -
Offshore Radio Memories, organised by Radio Plus (IJmuiden) in August 1992.
Muziek uit Zee, organised by the Dutch cable stations Okay FM and Radio Monique on 30th and 31st August 2000.
Muziek uit Zee, organised by the Dutch stations Radio 192 and Radio Monique on 11th and 12th August 2001.
For all these broadcasts the vessel was located off the coast of IJmuiden (The Netherlands)
