Radio Essex changes its name and format to BBMS (Britain's Better Music Station) |

Roy Bates, owner of Radio Essex (by now known as BBMS), appeared at Rochford Magistrates Court on charges of using an unlicensed transmitter for radio broadcasting at the Knock John Fort. Roy Bates was found guilty and fined, but kept BBMS on the air. |
